50 Years of Rodman Boats: A Landmark Year for a Spanish Icon

The British Motor Yacht Show is thrilled to announce a significant addition to its lineup this year as it welcomes the renowned Rodman brand for the first time. Particularly noteworthy is the timing of this debut, as 2024 marks a pivotal milestone for this Spanish boat building icon – its 50th anniversary. To shed light on the rich heritage of Rodman, we turned to RBS Marine, the approved UK dealer for Rodman, to delve deeper into the legacy of this esteemed European brand.

Here at RBS Marine, based in Birdham Pool near Chichester, we have a special relationship with Spanish boat builder Rodman spanning over two decades. However, Rodman have been building boats for much longer than that. In fact this year, we are delighted to join Rodman in celebrating their 50^th Anniversary in boat building.

Well known in the UK for their Fisher & Cruiser boats, and more recently the versatile Rodman Spirit 31, there is much more to this European boat builder than meets the eye. Alongside producing GRP pleasure vessels, the company also build professional boats in GRP – including fast patrol vessels for government agencies, and passenger and working catamarans. Whether it’s chasing down smugglers boats, or carrying families on their holidays in the Balearics, Rodman’s professional range is as varied as it’s leisure series.

The Rodman  shipyard has achieved many ‘firsts’ in 50 years; the first boat builder in Spain certified with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and PECAL (NATO) quality assurances; the first to successfully implement Volvo’s IPS system and the first to build a 43m Patrol boat in GRP.  More than 15,000 Rodman boats have been built and delivered all over the world; more than 50 years, non-stop, designing, building and delivering boats – with the Rodriguez family still actively involved with the Rodman Group since D. Manuel Rodriguez  founded the company in 1974.

Here at RBS Marine, we’re excited to be exhibiting Rodman boats for the first time at the British Motor Yacht Show 2024. We’ll be bringing a super Rodman Spirit 31 Outboard – a really eye catching boat with denim blue hull, black coach roof and vivid interior, it will be sure to catch the eye of visitors to the show. Alongside this, one of Rodman’s entry level boats, the Rodman 790 Ventura CC, with walk around deck, GRP T-Top and fully equipped with the latest Raymarine gear. Even better, as it stands, both of these boats will be available for immediate delivery, ready to be enjoyed this summer.
