Optima Electric Boats

Optima Electric Yachts

An innovative, 100% electric range of vessels with ultra-efficient hulls capable of undertaking passages of over 150 NM.

Optima Electric Yachts launched their first 100% electric boat in April this year – a 10m luxury day boat/weekender which pushes the boundaries in terms of design, capabilities and styling.

The ultra-efficient, low resistance hull has been designed to significantly reduce energy consumption making the electrification process viable for long passages for the first time in vessels of this size.  The result is a Category B rated 100% electric boat that can achieve distance in dramatically increased comfort.

The coloured hull, sleek curved windshield and porthole windows all draw inspiration from classic motorboats, take a step closer, however, and you’ll see that this classic styling is effortlessly combined with a unique hull form, morphing from a monohull to trimaran at the stern, best described as a stabilised monohull by CEO and designer, David Kendall.  All contained within the practical dimensions of a monohull, allowing owners to fit into standard marina berths.

The e10 has a double cabin, separate heads/shower, extensive galley and social areas – induction hob, large fridge and seating for up to 10 people around a large cockpit table, as well as a sun bed area.  The optional roof provides protection from sun or rain.  The removal of the conventional engine room creates a large garage for storing dinghy, outboard, fenders and accessories such as SUPs and foiling boards that can be recharged onboard.  Everything you could want, for a practical, comfortable and zero-emission getaway.

For those seeking a larger luxury cruiser with multiple cabins, design work has started on hulls in the 40 – 50ft range, with a choice of closed or open cockpit options.
